“In the end, we don’t know what horses can do. We only know that when, over the past thousands of years, we have asked something more of them, at least some of them have readily supplied it.”

Meet the real miracle workers... The Horses

Rescued Horses Providing Healing and Restoring Hope

In searching for what horses we should use in our therapy program, we realized that there are hundreds of horses across the country that have been surrendered, abandoned and neglected due to injuries that made them no longer "usable" and often end up with no where to go.  These horses still have a lot of love to give and we are now partnering with Horse Rescues all over the Country to adopt these horses and use them in our therapy program.  We give them a forever home and a new start where they are loved and can share their love with those that need healing.  Our rescued horses will have a new life rescuing people, providing healing and restoring hope!

Meet Tommy!

Tommy is a great addition to Ahava and has been with us since March of 2021.  He is a 25 year old sorrel-overo paint and has had an interesting life.  In the past Tommy was used in mounted shooting competitions and used to pony race horses all over the country.  He has even flown in air planes!!!  Tommy is very gentle, understand and loves humans almost as much as his carrots!  In his senior years, Tommy now has stiffness and the start of arthritis in his joints and can no longer be ridden.  Now he gets to enjoy life offering love and healing to those that interact with him.  He is a great addition to the program!

Meet Faith!

Faith is a 27 year old appaloosa mare who's owner died.  She was then passed around only to be left abandoned and neglected.  Though the rest of her past is unclear, what we know is that her heart is beautiful.  When working with Faith, she has the ability to see into your soul.  She can sense how you feel and offers comfort and understanding. She feels things in a much deeper way than most horses and has a natural ability to sense what her companion needs from her.  She is an amazing Therapy Horse and makes everyone she comes into contact with feel safe and loved.  When around Faith, you feel like you are home.

Support our Horses

On Average, it costs over $7000 a year per horse to cover basic needs like hay, grain, veterinary care, farrier visits and equipment.  We could not help our heroes without our amazing Equine Partners.  To help support the care of our horses and help us add more horses to our herd, click on the donate button bellow, from there you can select the Ahava Herd Donation option!

Thank You for supporting our horses and our Mission!!!

You will be redirected to the PayPal secure site where you can select how you would like us to use your donation.
